When I met Mr. Commitment Phobic, meeting a guy was the last thing on my mind. Not only was I technically seeing someone else I was actually out to dinner with my mother!  But there was something about the guy that was sitting at the next table from us in the Italian restaurant.  Well there was a lot of “something” about the next table…..

Mr. Commitment Phobic wasn’t the first person to start speaking to my mom and I that evening.  His sister-in-law was.  Eventually he joined the conversation, and when he did immediately had me laughing.  Sure, he was handsome, but it was his personality and sense of humor that attracted me first…

I always love to find out what attracts people:  Thanks to FaceBook, Blogher and Twitter I now know a little…

For me it was the way he wore his leather jacket!  – SK

His beautiful face – AN

His brain i love very smart men – CB

Personality – CZ

That he had a job, and then I got to know his awesome personality. Alright, it also helped that he was attractive – VA

Her money – LOL – RC

The mystery…I truly had no clue who he was, what he was like, etc. I knew nothing about him. – SL

His sense of humor. Trite, but true – AB

I don’t have an SO but the first thing that attracted me to my ex was that she shared my love of being outdoors and liked to hike long distances. – CD

He responded to my online personal ad with a comment about sunscreen – we’re both very fair-skinned redheads.  It was really funny and set him apart. – S

He was, and still is, wickedly funny! – AB

I don’t have a “significant other” per se….however, what first attracted me to my unrequited love du jour was his super laid-back confidence. He’s just so easy to be around….

    Ugh…I’m so sprung.

    Happy 6WS!!

D H and I celebrated 40 years of marriage last weekend. He was my math tutor and I dropped him only to find him again on a nature trail 2 years later. I knew then that I would never let him get away again!

We met in a church choir. He sat behind me, so it was his voice that first attracted me.

My husband and I worked together. He was a Paramedic and I was an EMT. We would fight and argue like no bodies business. Then one day we found ourselves at St Patty’s Pre party. I went out with everyone from work for a bite to eat and ended up sitting near him. He was talking about how he was going out the next night for St Patty’s and I told him I didn’t drive to the City and drink since I lived too far away. He spent the entire night making me laugh.. then he told me I could stay at his house the next night and he would drive.. his room mate was away and I could sleep in her bed. I don’t know why I took him up on his offer- maybe it was intuition- but we have been together ever since.

Well, I don’t have a significant other in my life, but when I’ve been attracted to guys, it’s usually because of an expressive face. I really like faces that show all sorts of interesting reactions and emotions. :) Especially warm smiles.

Attraction is such an interesting subject. So many little factors to consider.

Virginia – I know! And I love how sometimes you aren’t attracted to someone at first and then it takes only a little something to change that…

His resistance to get involved after I got to meet him. I decided to make it a challenge until he saw the light.
